Airport deterrent balls are a simple solution to stop birds from entering open water ponds. They are a revolutionary new way to cover large areas of open surface water.
Waterfowl are attracted to areas of open water, but when that happens to be located near an airport, these ponds and lakes put both birds and humans at risk. Meanwhile, we have the perfect solution. A floating layer of Euro-Matic’s bird balls can successfully camouflage the liquid, deceiving birds into believing there is no water there.
Bird Balls® are 100mm diameter UV stabilised black hollow plastic balls, manufactured in High-Density Polyethylene. The balls float on the surface of a liquid and arrange themselves into a close packed formation to completely cover the surface. Also, for areas subject to high winds, normal balls can be blown from the water’s surface. However, we provide self-filling balls, each filled with 200ml of water which becomes stable by sitting lower in the water.
